June 25 2 hours Video Star app This app is super easy for students to create a video of their own but the only drawback is the music must come from itunes. I think students would be highly energized to compile their knowledge into a video on this app. Lots of cool technology effects can be used with this app. I did create an actual video which I thought turned out very well although it did take some time to make it just right.

June 22 2 hours Symbaloo is a great way to organize all of your resources into one location and it is visually appealing. This would make searching very easy for the younger grades. The creation of a Symbaloo for classroom use would save time searching and therefore this could result in more time for learning. Students could also create one which would help with their organization. It’s like one stop shopping, everything is one place. Great for the front page of a website or an online student portfolio.

June 20, 2013 2 hours QR codes (readers and makers) QR codes allows students, teachers, and parents a quick way to access information through scanning the QR code with a mobile device and a QR app. Students might be more likely to search the QR resource and they will likely enjoy any activity that involves using QR codes. If students publish their work on the internet,they could advertise their work through a QR code for a quick and easy way for people to view their information. I have also seen teachers create scavenger hunts involving QR codes. It is trendy right now and it keeps kids and teachers with the flow of technology.

June 18 2 hours Freetech4teachers.com I found so many great new and updated resources here that I can use with students and teachers. They have every content area and it has an easy to use search tool. I think by bringing new and exciting technology into the classroom it is likely to increase their interest and motivation therefore in return increase achievement. This site will help me keep up to date on new and upcoming technologies that are available.

June 17th pm 2 hours Skitch App Naomi also mentioned this app. Student could easily upload any photo and make personal notes on the photo. Student would enjoy this app in the classroom and could be used many ways. Students could use this to define items by labeling with the correct vocabulary word. This app allows students to use technology in a way that would not the possible without a mobile device like the ipad. This also has the ability to personalize learning.

You can use this to differentiate the thinking skill, the content, the resources, the product or the group. I have been doing this myself the last few years and this will save me so much time! I think students will take greater ownership in their work if they know that their assignments have been tailor made just for them. This site makes planning for the individual student or select tier of students somewhat more manageable and you could even have students use the site to determine their own outcomes.
